It’s not a death, it’s a Re-Birth

It’s not a death, it’s a Re-Birth

Becoming a new mum is  the most life-changing experience I’ve had.

They say when the baby is born, so is the mother, the woman was always, but the mother wasn’t…

So it’s not surprising that it  was an emotional rollercoaster that left me feeling so disconnected from myself, confused and lost.

When I first entered motherhood, I was trying to ‘bounce back’, trying to make business decisions like I always had, trying to show up as a wife like I always had, trying to be a friend like I always had… but that just left me feeling even more disconnected to who I was.

What I soon realised was, it was because I was trying to fit the old me into the new me - it was like trying to fit a square into a triangle.

Looking back I spent most of last year disconnected to who I was at my core, I struggled to form good habits, maintain relationships, make business decisions and everything felt really foggy.

I had so many preconceived notions of what motherhood should look like, how I should act, how I should show up. I realised a lot of my internal dialogue was guilt and shame, for not feeling how I “should” feel, for how I “should” do things as mum.

BUT, I had to shift my mindset - I couldn’t continue to grieve my pre-baby self, I had to look at this as an opportunity to create my new identity - I had to look at this as a re-birth.

Motherhood is an opportunity to embrace a new identity, to create a version of yourself that can be suited to the new season of your life. It’s an opportunity to redefine who you are and to discover strength that you didn’t know you had. It’s a time to evolve into your highest level, and the best bit is, you’re no longer just evolving for yourself, you're evolving for your babies.

It’s time to focus on who you are now, and who you want to become. Take the time to prioritise getting to know this new version of yourself, to discover your new strengths, passions and purpose.

While on this journey it’s so important to be surrounded by the right people, people who support and encourage you but also hold you accountable. Becoming a mum can feel very isolating and having a support system of people who understand what you’re going through and who can offer a helping hand when you need it, is invaluable.

Becoming a mum has been the greatest gift for me, it has allowed me to transcend to a completely new level. It’s a journey of self-discovery and an incredible transformation. Believe me, it’s not easy. It took me a long time to work through it but I have come out the other side  more in my power than ever, a lot of you can feel that.

That’s why I felt called to create my new course Re-birth, for those who want to do motherhood on their own terms - if you related to anything in this blog you would love it. You can find more information here.

I’d love to take you on this same journey with me… where we realise, being a mum, was our superpower all along.

Love always,

G xx
