How to get your spark back ⚡️

Today I wanted to talk about motivation.

Motivation is something a lot of people search for, and often struggle to find.

We all go through stages of being highly motivated, and we all go through stages of lacking motivation, which can sometimes turn to being stuck in a rut.

So today I wanted to chat about how to pull yourself out of it and some techniques I use to bring my spark back.

First of all, I want you to stop looking for motivation in external places, because at the end of the day, we need to be our own motivation.

It sounds silly and you might be sitting there thinking, ‘Georgie, I can’t find motivation in myself in the low times…’, so let’s unpack this a bit further.

First of all, don’t be so hard on yourself, we all have periods where we lack motivation, so let yourself have a rest and a break. BUT, don’t let it go on too long.

There is a difference between lacking motivation/needing a break & using it as an excuse to not do anything.

To put it bluntly, stop wasting your time, you have a responsibility to yourself to be your own motivation and live your best life, you don’t want to look back and have any regrets on not making the most out of every day.

You don’t want to look back and think ‘gosh there is so much I wish I had done.’

You want to look back and go, I have done everything I wanted to do, I made the most of my time here.

That is usually always enough to motivate me.

I am a big believer in you create your own reality, so what reality do you want to live?

If not now then when? Take bold action GF, you can’t keep waiting for motivation to show up - be your own motivation ✨

If that thought isn’t enough to motivate you, then here are some things I do to get me fired up again.

1. Write down your goals and have something to work towards

Writing down your goals is such a big motivator, when you put pen to paper and tick them off as you go, you feel a sense of achievement. Sometimes when you are lacking motivation it can be hard to write down big goals, so start writing down mini goals and the more you tick off the more you can dream bigger and bigger.

2. Don’t wait for motivation, just act.

This may seem like a silly one, but often motivation comes after action. So just act, then watch your motivation come back!

3. Gratitude & living in the present.

Sometimes we forget to remember all we have to be grateful for, and we constantly think about the future. If you start living in the moment and being more grateful for the small things it can help you shift into a higher vibe, and when you are in a higher vibe, you find more motivation.

4. Just keep going, choose a new thought.

It’s easy to get caught up in a negative mindset, it becomes a vicious cycle, so I want you to observe that thought & choose a new one.

5. Remember your why…

This is a big one. What’s your why? Sometimes we get so caught up in the how, we forget our why. If you remember what your end goal is, it can be super motivating to keep going.

Always remember life is here to teach us lessons, so give yourself a pep talk, get excited and try get back on track GF.

If you ever feel your motivation slipping, you can always come back to this blog.

Love always

G xx
